den senaste tiden har min hjärna svämmats över av tankar om iran och israel. och då har det inte handlat så mycket om dadlar och falafel, utan mer om de politiska förhållandena och hur gärna folk misstolkar saker medvetet. jag har läst en massa böcker och artiklar och sett filmer och jag har surfat runt en massa på olika bloggar och hemsidor och lyssnat på svenska och utländska radioprogram och ja… hjärnan är liksom fylld.
jag funderar mycket på fredsrörelsen i israel. på gush shalom och peace now (som jag skrivit lite om här). på susan nathan, som kallas för ”terrorist” och ”självhatande jude”. susan nathan anser själv att både gush shalom och peace now inte är så mycket att hänga i granen, eftersom att deras fredsbudskap är villkorade. de vill t.ex. att palestinier och israelaraber ska få lika rättigheter som israeljudar, men inte att de hundratusentals människor som drevs från sina hem vid israels bildande 1948 ska få återvända. såna saker. att de liksom är för 50% rättvisa. inte hela vägen ut. hon tycker att många israeliska vänsteraktivister som påstår sig vara för fred i mellanöstern egentligen engagerar sig för att israels rykte världen över ska förbättras, och inte lukta så jävla mycket apartheid och institutionell rasism. inte för att de FAKTISKT tror på fred och jämlikhet mellan judar och araber. ”det måste ju finnas nån slags gräns”, som någon av hennes s.k. vänstervänner hade sagt till henne. strax därpå satte hon en dadel i halsen (!) i ren förvåning och frustration.
sen har jag funderat på iran. och irans förhållande till israel, och USA:s förhållande till dessa två länder sinsemellan. just nu försöker ju både israel och USA utmåla iran som Det Nya Hotet. det nya landet som ska Befrias och Demokratiseras, alternativt Neutraliseras. man utmålar ahmadinejad som en fullständigt vanvettig idiot som förklarar krig med allt och alla och vars blotta existens är en personlig skymf mot alla demokratiskt sinnade människor. något som är populärt bland folk som är RFI, d.v.s. Rädda För Iran, är att dra upp det gamla citatet av ahmadinejad där han förmodas påstå att israel ska raderas från världskartan (”As the imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map”). de flesta har säkert hört om det (här är t.ex. en artikel i new york times som handlar om detta, som begåvat nog har placerats i kategorin ”africa”). det kablades ut till leda i alla jävla medier när det begav sig år 2005, och fortfarande finns det folk som drar upp det i samband med diskussioner om israels ”rätt att försvara sig” mot sina galna trigger-happy grannar i mellanöstern. vad folk däremot inte alls verkar ha hört talas om är vad ahmadinejad EGENTLIGEN sa.
EGENTLIGEN sa han såhär:
”imam khomeini goft in regim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safe-ye ruzgar mahv shavad”.
det betyder ordagrant:
”imamen sa att regimen som ockuperar jerusalem måste försvinna från tidens blad”.
och engelska:
”the imam said this regime that occupies jerusalem must vanish from the page of time”.
hmm… inte lika hotfullt nu va? inget snack om att radera en nation från kartan? inga anspelningar på något kärnvapenprogram som snart ska börja användas? endast ett citat av en annan person, som uttryckte att sionismen som ideologi, precis som fascism och kommunism, kommer att försvinna från tidens blad. och det är liksom ett uttryck som, oavsett om man håller med om det eller inte, inte på något sätt säger att man ska utrota israel från världskartan. sättet han uttrycker att ”vanish from the page of time” signalerar snarare att det är något som borde falla i glömska och bli inaktuellt, än bombas åt helvete. och ett annat faktum, som så påpassligt inte nämns i ett enda av dessa sammanhang:

samt;
